As the first ‘Golden Age’ of muscle cars was winding down in the early 1970s, Pontiac found an unexpected champion in the Firebird Trans Am. With larger engines than what was available in Chevrolet’s Corvette, the Trans Am began to build momentum, and by the release of Smokey and the Bandit in 1977, Pontiac had created a true legend. This stunning Polar White 1970 Trans Am perfectly embodies the characteristics that secured its place in American car culture. From its clean yet aggressive styling to the unmistakable roar of its Pontiac engine, this car checks all the right boxes.
Documentation confirms that this beauty was equipped with a range of desirable features, both standard and optional, including variable ratio power steering, power front disc brakes, air conditioning (C60), a TH400 automatic transmission, a Safe-T-Track differential, body-color mirrors, a Rally gauge cluster, a pushbutton radio with a windshield antenna (U63), a rear seat speaker (U80), a console (D55), and Soft Ray tinted glass (A02).
The car has been meticulously maintained and updated, with the following items recently serviced or replaced: engine wiring harness, Pertronix electronic ignition, rebuilt Quadrajet carburetor, new upper ball joints, new Bilstein shocks, new OEM exhaust with correct hangers and tips, a new printed circuit board for the gauges, new wheels and tires, and a Classic Auto Sound stereo with Bluetooth and Alpine speakers. The entire list of maintenance and upgrades is documented, along with the PHS report and a copy of the window sticker.
This is an incredibly clean restoration that’s ready to hit the road and rumble!
